Fun times all around

Holy cow! My mom and I went to a concert last night in Artesia and it was fabulous!! Oh my goodness--I haven't laughed that hard in a VERY long time! Here is a picture of the crazy man. Unfortunately, you can't see his red sequined Converse shoes that complete the outfit.

The program for his concert reads:

At the age of five, Dale Gonyea got up very early one morning and, without a single lesson, spontaneously began playing the piano. His parents were astonished because they did not have a piano. They decided he needed therapy or music lessons. Therapy was expensive. They bought a piano and a career was born.

It's hard to describe his performance but he does a perfect job of combining comedy and piano. He has written a ton of songs: some are heart-felt, most are hilarious, a couple he wrote for Disney and then he does an incredible job of writing songs about the town he is playing in. He really does his research and incorporates a great deal of local humor and inside jokes into his show. If you ever get the opportunity to see this guy in person, you must go! He is incredible!

My mom works in an accountant's office and had today off from work to celebrate the end of tax season. We went to Ruidoso for the day and had so much fun shopping and eating and even meeting long-lost family members in the fabric shop. Oh the joys of small town life!

I missed Scrubs this week and just now watched the latest episode online. This has been a pretty emotional week for me and I am VERY emotionally invested in Scrubs, so tonight was rough. I just sat at my computer and bawled my eyes out as I watched the same episode 3 times! Actually, I just keep watching the end because it is SO happy and I am crying tears of joy. However, I am getting very sad and scared because I know the end is coming. May 6 is the date of the series finale. I am planning a day of mourning already. I am sure it will be well-written and it will be what needs to happen, blah blah blah. I love JD and Elliot together so much. I am SO happy with the way this 8th season has gone. I always knew she was his dream girl; I've just been waiting for him to figure it out! :)

Brand New Day

This has been a tough week for me in many ways.  One of the reasons I LOVE Joshua Radin so much is because one of his songs almost always fits as my current life anthem. Today is no different--I heard this song this morning and it has given me a whole new outlook on life.

None of the things that were upsetting me have changed, but my attitude has! God is good and He has given me a new day to enjoy. I will choose to rejoice and be glad for today!
